As colleges and universities begin to utilize data on in-demand labor market skills, they have a growing need to surface quality career and educational recommendations to their students. There are a growing number of adult learners wishing to return to school to fill their skill gaps in order to become more valuable in the workforce. In most cases, these learners have enough prior experience to get a head-start in a degree program rather than starting from the beginning.
Leveraging Emsi's new skill technology—which helps schools identify what skills are being taught in their curriculum— we wanted to help students inventory their own skills and match them to the courses they need to meet their career aspirations and bypass traditional program funnels.
